ABEL ASIIMWE

Abel joins the firm from Rwanda Broadcasting Agency where he served as General Counsel for eight years. He holds a Bachelor of Laws degree (LLB) from University of Rwanda and a Master of Laws degree (LLM) with specialisation in Corporate and Commercial Law from Maastricht University.

He started his legal profession in 2009 at Rwanda Development Board (RDB) as an Officer in charge of Incorporation of Companies & Mortgages. In his role, he helped draft and implement the Registrar General’s Instructions and Guidelines for registration and management of companies.

Prior to Joining Rwanda Broadcasting Agency in 2016, Abel served as a Legal Manager at KT Rwanda Networks(A partnership between the Government of Rwanda and Korea Telecom). While at KT Rwanda Networks, he advised on all legal and regulatory issues affecting the Company.

At Trust Law Chambers, Abel practices under the general commercial law department and focuses on Mergers and Acquisitions as well as all Company secretarial mandates.

Abel is a member of Rwanda Bar Association and East Africa Law Society. He is a native speaker of Kinyarwanda and has an excellent command of English.
